01 Metal Options
Metal options to suit your design, Budgets and production needs.Brass
Brass is an affordable and versatile metal commonly used for fashion jewelry. It is a good choice for brands looking for attractive designs at a more accessible price. Brass has a naturally warm, golden color and can be plated in different finishes, including yellow gold, rose gold, silver, rhodium, and other custom finishes.
Solid Gold
Solid gold is a precious metal valued for its quality, durability, appearance, and long-term value. It is commonly used for fine jewelry, premium collections, wedding jewelry, and pieces designed to be worn for many years. The karat, shown as K, indicates the amount of pure gold in the metal. Higher-karat gold contains more pure gold, while lower-karat gold contains more alloy metals, which generally makes it stronger and more affordable.
At Podduang Production, we offer:
- Yellow gold: 9K, 10K, 14K, and 18K
- White gold: 9K, 10K, and 14K
- Rose gold: 9K, 10K, and 14K

925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a precious metal made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy metals. The added alloy helps make the silver stronger and more suitable for jewelry production. Sterling silver is a popular choice for high-quality everyday jewelry because it offers a good balance of beauty, durability, value, and affordability. It can be left unplated to show its natural silver color or finished with gold plating, rose gold plating, rhodium plating, oxidation, or other surface treatments.
Choosing the Right Metal Each metal offers different advantages:
- Brass is suitable for affordable fashion jewelry and larger production quantities.
- Sterling silver is suitable for high-quality everyday jewelry at a mid-range price.
- Solid gold is suitable for premium and fine-jewelry collections.
Our team can help recommend the most suitable metal based on your design, target price, preferred color, product size, durability requirements, plating preference, production quantity, and intended market.

02 Plating Options
Plating options are available in a range of colors, finishes, and durability levels. What is Plating ?
Plating is the process of applying a thin layer of metal over the surface of jewelry. It can improve the appearance, create a specific color, and provide additional surface protection.
Our available plating options include:
- Silver plating
- Yellow gold plating
- Rose gold plating
- Rhodium plating
- Black rhodium plating
- Ruthenium plating
- Palladium plating
- Two-tone plating
- E-Coating
- Custom finishes upon request
Silver Plating
Silver plating can be applied to both brass and sterling silver. When applied to sterling silver, it creates a brighter, cleaner, and more reflective surface, giving the jewelry a more polished and high-end appearance. When applied to brass, it provides the appearance of silver at a more accessible price. However, brass oxidizes easily, and once the plating begins to wear, the color of the brass underneath may become visible. For this reason, silver-plated brass jewelry requires more careful handling and maintenance.
Gold Plating
Gold plating is available in different colors and thicknesses, depending on the desired appearance, budget, and product requirements.
A thicker layer of gold plating generally provides better durability and may last longer than a thinner layer. However, the final performance also depends on the product design, base metal, surface preparation, frequency of wear, and how the jewelry is cared for.
Rose Gold Plating
Rose gold or Pinkgold plating provides a warm pink tone and is suitable for both modern and vintage-inspired jewelry designs.
Rhodium Plating
Our rhodium plating creates a bright silver-white finish with a slightly grayish tone. It is commonly used on sterling silver and white gold jewelry to provide a clean, refined, and modern appearance. Rhodium plating can also help protect the surface and reduce tarnishing.
Black Rhodium and Ruthenium
Black rhodium and ruthenium plating create darker finishes ranging from deep gray to black. These finishes are often used for modern, bold, or contrasting jewelry designs. The final surface appearance may vary depending on the polishing, texture, and finishing method.
E-Coating
E-coating is a transparent protective coating applied over the plated or finished surface of the jewelry. It can help protect the surface from tarnishing, scratches, moisture, and everyday wear, while helping the plating maintain its appearance for longer. E-coating is especially useful for fashion jewelry and plated pieces that require additional surface protection. Its suitability depends on the plating type, product design, color, and intended use.
Plating Thickness
We offer different plating thicknesses depending on the product and customer requirements, including:
- Flash plating
- 0.5 micron
- 1 micron
- 2 microns
- 2.5 microns
- 3 microns
- 5 microns
For gold-plated sterling silver jewelry, vermeil generally requires a gold plating thickness of at least 2.5 microns.
Our team can recommend a suitable plating type, thickness, undercoating, and protective finish based on the base metal, design, target price, expected wear, desired appearance, and intended market.
We can also advise on surface preparation, polishing, e-coating, and other finishing options before sampling begins.
03 Finishing Options
Finishing options are available to create different textures, levels of shine, and visual effects.High Polish
A smooth, mirror-like finish with a bright and highly reflective surface. High polish is suitable for clean, elegant, and classic designs. It also helps jewelry appear brighter and more refined.
Matte
A smooth, non-reflective finish with a soft and understated appearance. Matte finishing is ideal for modern, minimal, and contemporary jewelry designs.
Satin
A smooth finish with a soft, gentle sheen. Satin is less reflective than high polish but slightly brighter than a matte finish, creating a refined and balanced appearance.
Brushed
A textured finish created with fine directional lines across the surface. Brushed finishing gives jewelry a modern, handcrafted look and can help make small scratches from everyday wear less noticeable.
Hammered
A textured finish created by applying repeated hammer-like impressions to the surface. Hammered finishing adds depth, movement, and a handmade character. The pattern can be fine and subtle or bold and pronounced, depending on the desired effect.
Sandblasted
A fine, frosted finish created by blasting the surface with small abrasive particles. Sandblasting produces an even, textured appearance with very little reflection. It works well for modern, industrial, and minimalist designs.
Antique or Oxidized
A darkened finish used to highlight engraved lines, patterns, textures, and recessed details. The darker areas create contrast and make fine design elements more visible. This finish is commonly used for vintage-inspired, detailed, and handcrafted jewelry.
Choosing the Right Finish
Different finishes can be used alone or combined within one design to create contrast and visual interest.
Our team can advise on the most suitable finishing method based on the metal, plating, design details, durability requirements, production method, and desired appearance.
04 Material Options
Material options include a wide range of gemstones, beads, pearls, diamonds, and decorative materials to suit different designs, budgets, and production needs.Natural Gemstones
We work with a variety of natural gemstones and semi-precious stones, including amethyst, aquamarine, citrine, garnet, peridot, blue topaz, tourmaline, moonstone, labradorite, opal, turquoise, lapis lazuli, onyx, agate, carnelian, jade, quartz, rose quartz, smoky quartz, tiger’s eye, and malachite. Availability depends on the required size, shape, color, quality, quantity, and current supply. Natural gemstones may vary in color, pattern, transparency, inclusions, and surface appearance. These variations are part of their natural character. Before production, we can help establish an acceptable quality and color range for the collection.
Pearls
We offer freshwater pearls, shell pearls, and imitation pearls. Freshwater pearls are natural pearls grown in freshwater mussels and are valued for their soft luster and naturally varied shapes. Shell pearls are manufactured using natural shell material to provide a smooth surface, consistent color, and uniform shape. Imitation pearls are man-made and offer good consistency at a more accessible price. Available pearl shapes may include round, oval, button, drop, baroque, rice, and irregular shapes. Pearl size, shape, color, luster, and surface quality can be selected according to the design and budget. Because freshwater pearls are natural materials, slight variations in shape, color, and surface are expected.
Natural and Lab-Grown Diamonds
We can work with both natural mined diamonds and lab-grown diamonds. Natural diamonds are formed in the earth, while lab-grown diamonds are created under controlled laboratory conditions. Both are real diamonds with the same basic chemical composition and physical properties, but they differ in origin and price. Diamond options can be selected according to natural or lab-grown origin, size or carat weight, shape, cut, color, clarity, quantity, setting method, and certification requirements.
- Common diamond shapes include round, oval, pear, marquise, emerald, princess, cushion, baguette, and heart.
- Certification may be available or required depending on the diamond size, quality, quantity, and customer request.
Imitation and Synthetic Stones
We also work with high-quality imitation and laboratory-created stones for customers who require greater consistency, specific colors, or a more accessible price. Available options may include cubic zirconia, synthetic spinel, synthetic corundum, synthetic sapphire, synthetic ruby, nano gemstones, glass stones, crystal stones, imitation turquoise, imitation opal, imitation pearls, and reconstructed or composite stones.
These materials are available in many colors, shapes, sizes, and cuts. They are often suitable for larger production quantities because their appearance is generally more consistent than that of natural stones.
ⓘ Important Information : Common Stone Shapes and Cuts
Depending on the material and availability, stones may be supplied in round, oval, pear, marquise, emerald, princess, cushion, baguette, trillion, heart, cabochon, bead, carved, or custom shapes. Faceted stones provide more brilliance and reflection, while cabochon stones have a smooth, rounded surface and are often used for opaque or naturally patterned gemstones. Custom-cut stones may be possible depending on the material, dimensions, quantity, budget, and production requirements.
Glass Beads
Glass beads are available in a wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes, transparencies, and surface finishes. Available options include round, oval, tube, cube, teardrop, and irregular shapes, as well as transparent, opaque, frosted, glossy, metallic, single-color, mixed-color, patterned, and coated finishes. We can also work with seed beads and larger decorative glass beads. Glass beads are suitable for colorful, decorative, handcrafted, and fashion-forward jewelry collections.
Epoxy Resin and Enamel
Epoxy resin and enamel can be used to add color, contrast, patterns, logos, and decorative details to jewelry. Available effects may include solid colors, transparent or translucent colors, glossy finishes, matte finishes, glitter effects, decorative effects, and multiple colors within one design.
Custom color matching may be available depending on the project, required color standard, design, and production quantity. Small color differences may occur between samples and production batches. We will review and confirm the acceptable color range before bulk production.
Customer-Supplied Materials
Customers are welcome to provide their own gemstones, diamonds, beads, pearls, or other decorative materials.
Before production begins, we may recommend testing the supplied materials for size and shape consistency, color consistency, drilling or setting compatibility, heat and chemical sensitivity, surface durability, risk of scratching, cracking, or breakage, and suitability for casting, soldering, polishing, plating, or stone setting.
Our team will handle all customer-supplied materials with great care. In most cases, production is completed without any problems. However, gemstones and other decorative materials can be naturally fragile, and unexpected cracking, chipping, discoloration, or breakage may occasionally occur during manufacturing, even when proper care is taken.
For this reason, Podduang Production cannot accept responsibility for damage to customer-supplied materials that results from their natural characteristics, hidden defects, previous damage, or sensitivity to the production process. We recommend providing a small quantity of extra materials to cover any possible loss or breakage. Testing and providing additional pieces can help reduce production risks and avoid delays if a replacement is needed.
